CERTIFICATION & FRAMEWORKS

Are you certified to ISO/IEC 42001, or do you have a documented roadmap to certification?

Current as of July 2026.
A model answer
[If certified] Yes. We hold ISO/IEC 42001 certification, issued by [accredited certification body], covering [scope]. The certificate and Statement of Applicability are available under NDA. [If not yet certified] Not yet. We operate an AI management system aligned to ISO/IEC 42001: a Statement of Applicability across the Annex A controls with documented applicability decisions and exclusion rationales, an AI system register, per-system risk assessments, competence records, supplier assessments, and internal audit and management review records. Our certification audit is scheduled with [body] for [date].

Evidence a buyer expects

The certificate, or the Statement of Applicability plus a dated plan. "We're working towards it" without an SoA and a date is not a roadmap — it is an intention, and reviewers read it as one.

Why weak answers fail

Claiming certification you do not hold is the fastest way to lose a deal and a reputation; certificates are verifiable. Equally, a bare "no" concedes ground you did not need to concede. The credible position is an operating management system with a dated audit.

What Hael produces
